Some interior finishing touches

Starting to ramp up for a bit again before the next round of travel takes me away!

I can't complain about the break...it's nice to just enjoy some time going slow and relaxing these days...but I've had a few projects that were thought out and planned with all the materials that I hadn't executed so....this weekend was the time to get it done.

First I needed to trim out the octogon window ....so I cut out a solid board to cover up the back side of the t111 and hide the edges of the octogon frame. I have more to do...this was just phase one...but still satisfying....stay tuned for the big reveal later on!

Then I and hung my sliding mirror... I found some mini barn door hardware onkine suitable for cabinets it claimed and created a backing for the unused mirror I had lying around. Drilling the holes was the tricky part and I actually did pretty well with it since the hardest was going to cover the places around the holes that looked damages. However, I didn't fare so well when installing the hardware with the mirror. I got three of the four bolts on and was doing good when the fourth bolt broke the camel's back, as they say. Just a tad too much pressure on top of me using a leftover slightly warped board that I glued the mirror to.

Oh well, I don't believe in bad luck and it was easily covered by some embellishments....besides I was just so grateful it didn't crack down the middle!!! So I'm happy!

I painted the back so it can be visible when over the window...I think it came out pretty well...even if not perfectly lined up! -wabri-sawbri 😆

Last but not least was finishing my flower power lights that I started back in June! Finally, those are out together and hung...I may add to them more later...but for now...yeah, I get mood lighting with like 16 different colors!

Also prepped the deck with a Power wash and tomorrow plan to slap on the stain to protect it for the next six years! To prep for that, I also did some touch-up paint to clean up the outside where white got on the blue from painting the roof.

All this and I still managed to swim in the river often, ride my bike 🚲 and dinghy down river to the free concert in Newburyport to see the barebacked ladies! Good times! 😁

After waking up in time for the roof to be ready to finish painting, I got it all done and excitedly installed the sun in my sky!

i am so pleased with the end result...it reflect me...my soul....where Air of a special land meets the Watery flow of deep blue oceans that result in a Firey explosion of passion and feeling. What if all of our homes were actual reflections of us...what we are on the inside? 

What would happen if we all started living inside out!?

Well, whatever the world decides to do....I know I like living insde-out!

Finding the joy in my art piece I spent time getting this ready for installation on the 4th of July tomorrow! Day of freedom in many ways for me!

I'll just post the pics of the process without words....sometimes, I am finding....words are just too much....stillness, patience and observation can say so much....

I love the details and how it all ended up....I fully trusted the process the entire time....never once doubting myself, my actions or my choices....true for my whole life these days....and it feels good.

Cambyr inspired me to pull an all-nighter with her working on my newest vision....

(She by the way...inspired by my work, decided to build her own custom furniture for her clothes...I LOVE mutual inspiration...and I love being this kind of example to my kids!)

When I was at Home Depot buying the trim for the rest of the house I talked to a guy about my latest idea and he pointed me to the proper material for the job! Better still, it was slightly damaged so he gave me an expensive 1/2 sheet of PVC for half off! Yeah, now the project was much more affordable!

I started with a clean fresh sheet and some long sheets of paper that were just gifted to me serendipitously!

I actually had so much fun drawing and cutting out the designs then fitting them as tightly as I could to maximize my use of the PVC sheet.

I outlined them and cut them with a jig-saw and then tested out the three spray paint cans I bought to see what kind of technique I would use.

But then, I was exhausted and Cambyr was too. Time to get some sleep and get back to it as soon as I woke up! Yeah, finally excited about doing more work on the little place! Being able to balance the MUST DO stuff with the WANT TO DO stuff really helps to take it all in stride and truly ENJOY the journey!

Got some sleep and cut everything out and laid them out on the grass out back to decide on a final layout...

This was the winner!

Then I trimmed out the rest of the place....and with the left-over pieces even trimmed out the loft, which I hadn't planned on doing! BONUS!

It's really starting to come together now!
